Well, it wasn't much of a storm but it made a dramatic entrance. I'd gone to see if the ground squirrels were still about in their den at the edge of Lake Ralphine and was struck by the view. On sunny days it's rather a dull one but with the sky darkening and the lake wild and dark it was quite melodramatic, making it fun to draw. There were several men fishing nearby and they were all lamenting the lack of fish, yet most of them stayed on and kept fishing, even as it began to rain. They speculated that the fish were hovering in the middle of the lake where the water was cold and deep.
